How We Actually Review Games Here
We get asked how we pick and score games, so here's the honest version. Every title gets installed and played — no exceptions and no reviews written off trailers.
We aim for at least ten hours before writing, more for bigger games. That's enough to get past the shiny first impression and into the real experience.
Scores are relative to genre. A 4.4 casual game isn't 'worse' than a 4.6 strategy game — they're doing different jobs. We use the number as a rough signal, and the words matter more.
We don't take payment for coverage, and we'll happily give a rough review to a game everyone else is praising if we didn't enjoy it. That's the whole point of an independent site.
